I was on Pinterest the over day and saw this awesome card created by My Stampin Haven. I needed to make it but wanted mine to be a birthday card with balloons. My Stampin Haven had posted a Youtube Video which can be found here.
Step 1: Take a piece of cardstock 8×8″
Step 2: Use the envelope punch board and line up to 3 1/4″, punch and score. Turn the card 90 degrees and line the score line up with the guide, punch and score. Repeat on all sides.
Step 3: Line up the envelope punch board at 3 1/2″ and repeat as above.
Step 4: Fold along all score lines.
Step 5: Cut two small tabs as in the picture.
Step 6: Glue the tabs to create a box.
Step 7: Fold the triangle tabs in, creating a box shape. (There is no third score line, but it naturally folds inwards.) Punch a shape in the middle of one end, creating a pull area to open the box.
Step 8: Glue the triangle tabs down.
Step 9: Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper to 3 1/4″ by 5 11/16″ and stick into the inside of the box.
Step 10: Cut three strips of cardstock to 3 5/8″ by 1″ and fold each in half at 1/2″.
To create the outside box:
Step 11: Cut a piece of cardstock to 5 13/16″ by 8 3/4″.
Step 12: Score at 5/8″, 4″, 4 5/8″, 8 1/8″.
Step 13: Fold all score lines and wrap around the inside box to ensure it fits. Glue together.
Step 14: Decorate the outside box.
Decorating the inside:
Step 15: Glue along one side of the small pieces of cardstock and stick inside the box, (with tab facing back) spacing all three out evenly.
Step 16: Prepare what you want to pop-up. (I made balloons from a 1″ circle punch and theme foot of the owl from the Owl Punch)
Step 17: Attach some of the embellishments to acetate and stick to the tabs. Stick some to the tabs directly.
Please share your creations! I love to see what you make, you can post them to Crafting with Cayleigh on Facebook.
