The cake in a box seems to be very popular right now so I thought I would write a tutorial for one 🙂
Firstly, you need to make an exploding box. Tutorial for that is HERE.
Once you have made the box, you can make your cake!
Step 1: I took 3 circle framelets and cut out 2 large circles, 1 medium and 1 small. (I used the SU circle framelits-2/4/6 which are roughly 1″, 2″, 3″ wide)
Step 2: I cut 3 pieces of DSP
- 2 1/22 x 9 1/4″
- 2″ x 6 1/4″
- 1 1/2″ x 3 3/4″
If you are using different framelits, you need to make sure that you paper is long enough to go around the circle.
Step 3: Score 1/2″ on each length and cut ‘crocodile’ teeth *Tip:Fold over the score line first*
Step 4: Apply glue around the edge of the largest circle
Step 5: Adhere the ‘crocodile teeth’ onto the circle.
Step 6: Once you have wrapped the full circle, adhere the ends together.
Step 7: Apply glue on the edge of the second large circle and stick to the top.
Step 8: The repeat this process for the middle size and small size and stick on top of each other.
Step 9: Decorate the cake
Step 10: Adhere the cake to the base of the box.
