Last week I made this card using the Shield technique. I was asked to make a tutorial so here goes!
Supplies: Ink, Stamps, Card base, Scrap paper (I used A4), Selotape, Embellishments
The stamp set I am using is Petal Parade. Guess what?! I got it for FREE. As I mentioned in other posts, Stampin Up! does Sale-A-Bration once a year. Spend £45 and get something free. There is nothing as good as free things! Especially free stamps!
Step 1: Fold the scrap paper around the card base, leaving the space you want to be stamped on. I went for roughly 2 inches.
Step 2: Selotape each end
Step 3: Start stamping!! I used 3 colours: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Rich Razzleberry
Step 4: Peel back the selotape and remove the card. You should be left with white space that was ‘Shielded’
Step 5: Add embellishments and a Sentiment. I used Petite Pairs stamp set, diamantes and some glitter paper.
* Please ignore the random lines of early espresso. I left my pen on the paper and it went all over… Didn’t realise until now!*
Hope you like it! I would love to see your version of the Shield Technique.
