In the Stampin Up! Spring Catalogue is a beautiful new Rose die. It’s makes incredible flowers. Best bit, they take about 10 minutes (TOPS) to make!
I used the flowers to create a tag to hold a Valentines Day present. I got the idea from Tracey Cornelius (another Stampin Up demonstrator) who has done a week of the rose. Check out her website: http://www.getcreativewithtraci.co.uk/
Step 1: Get your supplies together. You will need the Spiral Rose Die, A big shot, some card stock, Spritzer filled with water) glue gun (or strong glue)
Step 2: Run the die through the big shot. As it is a bigz die, it can cut 4 pieces of cardstock and felt. I also cut burlap today!
Step 3: Spritz water all over the cut out. Then scrumple up.
Step 4: Upscrumple (Totally made that word up!)
Step 5: Begin to roll the die up, starting with the small end. The tighter you roll, the tighter your rose will be.
Step 6: Once I have rolled up the rose, I like to put it down so it unravels a little- this is personal preference though.
Step 7: Use the glue gun on the bottom of the rose. A big dollop will make sure it doesn’t unravel. It’s also good to glue the end of the die to the rose too.
Step 8: Leave as is, or bend the petals down to give an open bud rose.
Step 9: I spritzed with gold spritz. This product is retired but currently available on the clearance rack.
Step 10: Admire!
