I have had a great week showing you a few of the new products, hosting competitions and giving away prizes! (There a couple more to be drawn and some are still ongoing!) I promised a cool tutorial at the end of the week and I think this one fits the bill! It is a stationary box that holds: C6 size cards, 3×3 cards, gifts tags, a mini note book and stamps!
Step 1: Take a 12″ x 12″ card at 3″ and 9″.
Step 2: Turn the card 90 degrees and score at 5″ and 7″
Step 3: Create tabs from the two middle sections. (see below)
Step 4: Adhere the tabs down to create a strong base.
Step 5: Fold the bottom tabs in. Score 1″ on each tab.
Step 6: This time focus on the bottom tabs, you need to cut 1 3/4 of each tab.
Step 7: Take another piece of card 8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ and score at 1 1/4 on three sides. (2 short & 1 long)
Step 8: Cut each corner square out (TIP add 1/8″ extra to cut out)
Step 9: Add glue to all 3 sides
Step 10: Line up the bottom tab with the base of the box, then stick the side tabs together.
Step 11: Cut two pieces of cardstock:
- 5 1/2″ x 2″ (DSP: 3 1/4″ x 1 3/4″)
- 4 1/2″ x 2″ (DSP 2 1/4″ x 1 3/4″)
Step 12: Score at 1/2″ and 1″ on each side of both pieces of card.
Step 13: Apply glue on both end tabs.
Step 14: Stick to the box to create two pockets.
Step 15: Take another piece of cardstock size 10 3/8″ x 6 3/8″ (This is for the lid so pick a co-coordinating colour)
Step 16: Score at 2 1/8″ on all sides.
Step 17: Cut each corner off- cut from score line to score line. Then cut down to the center lines to create 4 tabs.
Step 18: Cut DSP to:
- 3X 2″x6
- 2X 2″x2″
Step 19: Glue all DSP onto the lid.
Step 20: Apply glue onto each tab and adhere together to create the lid.
I really hope you enjoy this tutorial. Please post your finished Stationary Boxes on Create With Cayleigh!
