My name is Cayleigh May. I am originally from Hull in the North of England but now I live in the Sunny South near Portsmouth. I have been crafting for longer than I can remember & I’m not sure what I would do without it. I believe crafting is good for the soul and it certainly helps keep me sane!
This year I married my best friend Marc. He is the most supportive husband and yes, he can stamp! My mum (who is my other best friend, they share that title 😉 ) lives on the other side of the world & when I turn into a grumpy-grumperson because I miss her so much, Marc knows the only way to cheer me up, is to do some crafting-hence why he is so good!
What else should you know about me?! My furbaby Lexie is a Princess who always needs a pillow…I walk into things every day & so normally am injured or bruised up! I am either hungry or full- there is no middle ground. I like McFlurrys with Toffee Sauce. I have a slight Penguin obsession and I live in CayleighWorld. It’s a happy place-you should pop by sometime. <3
Why Stampin’ Up!?
I first heard about Stampin’ Up! About four years ago. I went to a workshop and was blown away by the fact they had everything I had dreamed of… Quality stamps, inks that were not dried out, and even better, everything matched! I realised I would no longer have to spend hours and even weeks trying to find some ribbon that matched my card and I could stamp in colours other than black! That workshop I bought one punch. I was too overwhelmed by the ideas in my head to make a decision on what else to buy!
Other the next few days I created my wish list and it was HUGE. At the back of the catalogue was some information about a starter kit. I love a bargain and that’s what it was. My punch arrived and I joined the next day-I didn’t even realise I was going to get a discount! I never had any intention of running classes, however, over time people kept asking me to help teach them & while I didn’t think I could, I finally agreed to a small class around my dining room table. That first class was over 3 years ago and I haven’t looked back! Now I run regular classes and retreats and I have my own team of passionate papercrafters.
There is a saying that if you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life. I so believe that to be true. I work very hard at my craft business, but it feels like I am hardly working because I love it so much. There is something magical about teaching someone to express their creativity and watching as someone flourishes within their own business.
I think life is what you make it and sometimes you need to put yourself out of your comfort zone to achieve your dreams. And at the end of the day, who doesn’t want discount?!
